Why I’m opening this blog now
I’m opening this blog at a specific moment, without any particular announcement, without a launch.
It simply arrives where I am today.
After years working in tech, leading teams, building products, starting and then stopping projects, I felt the need to put things somewhere. Not to explain what I do, but to understand what I actually do.
This blog is born from that need.
Documenting rather than communicating
I spend a lot of time producing, deciding, arbitrating.
Very little time documenting this path.
When I do, it is often after the fact, in a clean, rationalised way, sometimes too smooth.
Here, the intention is different.
I am not trying to convince or to demonstrate expertise. I am not trying to reconstruct, after the fact, a coherent trajectory. I want to keep traces: imperfect technical choices, product decisions made under constraint, hesitations, renunciations, sometimes accurate intuitions.
For me, documenting is not about explaining how to do things.
It is about making the reality of the work visible, with its blind spots.
Tech, product, business: the same ground
I no longer really separate technology from product, nor product from business.
In practice, everything is intertwined.
An architectural choice is often an economic choice.
A missing feature is sometimes an energy problem, not a skills problem.
Technical debt is almost always organisational debt.
This blog will sit there.
Not in tutorials. Not in recipes.
But in the zones of friction between what we would like to build and what we can actually maintain.
It will talk about systems, but also about fatigue.
About rational decisions and very concrete doubts.
An approach of sobriety
This blog is deliberately intended to be sober.
Technical sobriety, first.
No piling up of tools, no search for editorial performance, no artificial optimisation. The infrastructure will be simple, readable, sufficient.
Editorial sobriety, next.
Short or medium-length texts, written when there is something to say. No imposed rhythm. No promise of regularity. No rigid editorial line disguised as freedom.
Mental sobriety, finally.
This blog is not a space for constant exposure. It does not seek attention, but clarity. If some texts mainly help to bring order to my own ideas, that will already be useful.
What you will find here (and what you will not find)
You will find ongoing reflections here, sometimes incomplete.
Situated feedback, not generalisable.
Assumed choices, even when they are debatable.
You will not find:
- promises of success,
- motivational discourse,
- universal methods,
- heroicised narratives of entrepreneurship or tech.
This blog is not meant to inspire, even less to sell.
If it resonates with some readers, all the better. If it only serves me, that will already be enough.
I do not know exactly what this blog will become.
I only know why it starts now.
